The mission of AGIC is to coordinate the development and management of geographic information in Arizona.
AGIC promotes the use of GIS and related technologies to address problems, develop plans, and manage the natural, economic and infrastructure resources of the state.
The vision of AGIC is to facilitate the provision of credible, timely and accurate geographic information for widespread use by decision-makers and the citizens of Arizona.

Arizona has a lot of work to do. While already taking some action against the threats it faces today from extreme heat, drought, and wildfires, the state has done almost nothing to understand, plan for, and address its future risks.

The National Geospatial Advisory Committee has just published "The Changing Geospatial Landscape – A Second Look"There is a lot of good information and reference found within. And the language included under the Data Accessibility section, beginning on page 9, is very agreeably representative of AGIC and NSGIC advocacy positions. Since more open data access is a key concept within the 2016 AGIC Committee Work Plans, we might be able to leverage this report in the future.
